It has been a long time since I saw this for the first time, but someone brought it back up, so I wanted to show it again!

Silent Poetry Slam

Alright, I'm a day late, but its still a really cool thing.

This is my favorite poem of all time. It's not necessarily super happy, but I still love it.

Invictus by William Earnest Henley

OUT of the night that covers me,
Black as the Pit from pole to pole,
I thank whatever gods may be
For my unconquerable soul.
In the fell clutch of circumstance
I have not winced nor cried aloud.
Under the bludgeonings of chance
My head is bloody, but unbowed.
Beyond this place of wrath and tears
Looms but the Horror of the shade,
And yet the menace of the years
Finds, and shall find, me unafraid.
It matters not how strait the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll,
I am the master of my fate:
I am the captain of my soul.

RAVELRY!!!!!!

I'm really glad I have a job, otherwise I would be updating all my stash and projects on Ravelry day and night. I love it. Check me out. I don't have a lot of pictures up, but I'm hoping to get them updated soon.

...Summer in the City

My husband and I moved to "the big city" after living in a college town for way too long. Things are different--more people, more cars, everything seems so rushed. I know it sounds trite and stereotypical, but tis true. I haven't decided yet whether I like it here yet or not.

I did meet some wonderful people at the SouthSide Knitters last week, and I've really looking forward to the meeting tomorrow night. (Shout out to any SSKers reading this!) I might be able to finished my sock tomorrow night!

Right now, I've got a lot on the needles, and I've also got a big book in the works--yes, I am reading the last installment of Harry Potter. Both my husband and I are fans, so we've been doing the ultimate compromise--trading the book back and forth so we can both read it at the same time. Seems to be working so far--we'll see what happens once we get to the end and it gets really good.

Anyway--OTK right now--I've got a pair of socks in Trekking XXL that I absolutely love! It's the first time I've knit with this yarn, and I love it. It's so soft and the feeling when its knit is completly different than that in the skein. First sock is all done expect for kitchener on the toe, and second sock just rounded to heel. Pictures to come when they're done.

I'm also working on Mystery Stole 3. This is a project for the ages. Melanie just posted Clue 4, and I'm not even done with Clue 1 yet. I've decided that Alpaca with a Twist Fino is a great yarn, it's just too teeny for my taste. If you missed out on this craze, wait for a while, and Melanie will post the pattern for sale on her site. You can see other stoles she has designed also. They are beautiful. When I recover from MS3, I think Hanami is next on my list.

My turn for more Harry Potter!
